WellFitLife publishes fitness, diet, and wellness guidance for an Indian audience. Health content changes what people do with their bodies, so this page sets out exactly how that content is researched, written, reviewed, and corrected — and where its limits are.

Who writes this site

WellFitLife is written and edited by Ashwani, a fitness and wellness writer. Every article carries a visible byline and a published date.

An important limit: WellFitLife is not written by doctors, registered dietitians, or certified clinical practitioners, and nothing on this site is reviewed by one before publication. Where a topic needs clinical judgement — medication, injury rehabilitation, pregnancy, chronic illness, eating disorders — the honest answer is to see a qualified professional, and our articles are written to say so rather than to substitute for one.

How we source claims

Any claim that could change what a reader eats or how they train should be traceable to a source that actually supports it. In practice that means:

  • Preferred sources: peer-reviewed research (PubMed, PMC), the World Health Organization, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, and comparable public-health bodies such as the CDC.
  • Indian context first. Where Indian guidance exists — most often ICMR-NIN's Dietary Guidelines for Indians and the ICMR RDA tables — we use it in preference to Western equivalents.
  • Cited in place, and listed at the end. Statistics and claims link to the source inline, and longer articles carry a numbered References section.
  • No invented numbers. We do not publish statistics we cannot point to a source for. If a figure is an estimate or a rule of thumb, it is described as one.
  • We correct popular myths rather than repeat them, even when the myth would make a more attractive headline. Spot reduction and "afterburn" calorie claims are two we actively push back on.

How AI is used

Some articles are drafted or restructured with AI assistance. When that happens, a human selects and verifies every source, checks the claims, and edits the result before it is published. AI is not used to generate statistics, citations, personal experience, or credentials.

We publish this because Google's own helpful-content guidance asks sites to disclose their process where readers would reasonably want to know it, and because a reader deserves to know how health guidance reached them.

How we update content

Fitness and nutrition guidance changes, and articles go stale. Each post shows both a published date and, where it has been revised, a last-updated date. Updates are triggered when underlying guidance changes, when a claim no longer holds, when a cited source moves or is retracted, or when a reader points out something wrong.

A refreshed date on this site means the content actually changed. We do not re-date articles to look fresh.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. If you spot an error — a misread study, a broken source link, a number that does not add up — email hello@wellfitlife.in or use the contact form.

Substantive corrections — anything that changes the advice — are made to the article, and the last-updated date is changed to reflect it. Minor fixes such as typos are corrected without a date change.

Medical disclaimer

Content on WellFitLife is general information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It cannot account for your medical history, medication, or current condition.

Talk to a doctor or a qualified professional before starting a new exercise programme or making a significant dietary change — particularly if you are pregnant, managing a chronic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, or thyroid disease, recovering from injury or surgery, or returning to exercise after a long inactive period. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Independence and money

Some articles contain affiliate links, most often to Amazon India. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Commission does not decide what we recommend, and product ratings shown on this site are not passed off as independent editorial testing when they are not. No brand pays for coverage, placement, or a favourable review.
